Lutheran Young Adult Corps

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod

The Lutheran Young Adult Corps provides opportunities for young adults (18-26) to grow in a community of faith and service through long-term, full-time service in urban ministry settings. Participants are trained to live and serve in communities across the United States.

Young adults can serve for 10 weeks in the summer or 10 months as a gap year. During service, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod provides a supportive, life-changing program for young people to gain valuable experience while deepening their faith and sharing Jesus through acts of mercy.

How and when do volunteers apply?

Lutheran Young Adult Corps applications for the upcoming service year will be online in October 2018.

Ongoing Ambassadors For Christ

  Ongoing Ambassadors For Christ

OAFC is an "ongoing" witnessing movement for youth and adults of the LCMS. It is nationwide, making its ministry available to all LCMS congregations. OAFC has ONE GOAL, to be used of God to emphasize the saving Gospel -- Jesus suffered, died and rose in victory for all sins so that all people can be certain of going to heaven.

Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ is a recognized service organization of the LCMS, OAFC and has touched the lives of over 36,000 youth and adults who have learned to share Jesus in a simple way during its 40 year history. Many have become pastors, teachers, DCEs and committed lay members of our local congregations because of their experiences in OAFC. Now we need to find you! OAFC alumni are encouraged to register on the Alumni page at www.oafc.org

How to host a Servant Event

Servant Events can take on several “looks.” Some can be completed in one day or over a weekend. Others may last 10 days or longer. Events could provide service at a homeless shelter, food bank, or soup kitchen. They can connect with a local Habitat for Humanity affiliate or Laborers for Christ project. Others could support a mission congregation with building and grounds improvements, work with an area social service agency, or support an inner-city/urban ministry.
